sided tape, but its going on the dash bracket regardless.
Looks like it is going to happen. I will be getting one for sure.

Vintage Driver here who is low-tech but very interested to add this feature to my '03 GPW. Have already had a fender banger in a parking lot here in suburban Philly....old lady in a Prius was not watching what was happening.

Looking forward to Filthy Beast's further mounting fun, but don't know what is Modifry's Nuvi ball bracket?

It's a bracket made by Modifry to mount a Garmin GPS. You will also need to mount that to an actual bracket. The Nuvi ball part is on a plate. It just attaches the GPS using the ball.

Wish I'd switched to that Pioneer head unit while it was still available.

This is what i finally ended up with, put the monitor on the dash bracket
and did not use the the mount, ended up using double sided tape as
the monitor only weighs 3 or 4 oz it angles perfect, got a Lamicall air
vent cell phone holder from Amazon works very well. I did have to add
something to hold up the end of the phone and used a rubber cable
router cut it in half sets in it perfect.
