I am running into a issue with my battery relocation kit. I have a lot of accessories and a hefty alarm system along with running dual fuel pumps wires straight to the battery. The battery has been relocated to the trunk, but the shop is now trying to turn the car on and they say the fuse keeps blowing. They put a 80amp fuse I was told I need something larger. I have a 2 guage wire coming from the battery split into 2 4 gauge wires to the factory fuse box.

Any recommendations?

 

I would start by installing a circuit breaker so you stop spending money on fuses... Secondly the shop should be running some tests to find out WHY you keep blowing them in the first place. a few tests with a multimeter should be able to narrow down the problem pretty fast. I would guess shooting from the hip that the power wire is grounding out somewhere. Blowing the main fuse is pretty hard unless you have way to much draw or you're there is a short somewhere. I would start by ohm'ing out the leads looking for a short to ground. Then once you've proven there are no shorts then move on to the next step.
