battery relocation questions

Default battery relocation questions

im looking to put the battery in the spare tire well.

1.will it fit?
2.do i need a battery box and vent? all threads i read had conflicting views.
3.has anyone done this and recommend a kit i could purchase?

I put mine where the spare tire is. I would use a battery box, if you do any auto-x or drag they will require it. Jegs.com has a lot of good boxes just measure the battery you want to use, and where it is going they give you the sizes of the box inside and out.

i dont plan to race the car, just cleaning up the engine bay.

the trunk is vented so maybe a battery ox wont be needed?

did you use a fuse? whats the deal behind using one?

I would recommend using a circuit breaker. Around 150 amps

whats the reasoning? incase the power wire shorts to ground?
