Default Beltronics RX75 (Plus) vs. Valentine 1 (1.7 or 1.8

I currently have a Valentine 1 (1.7) I am considering changing to the RX75 has anyone had contact with both? if so what were your thoughts on the RX75 as oppose to the V1?

Also, does anyone know if the RX75 suggest a direction the radar is coming from like the V1 does?

Thanks

I dont think anyone here will tell you different....

If you already OWN the V1, you cant switch to anything better. Some people advise other radars due to the financial aspect, but no one will tell you to switch. I owned a lot of radars in my day, and now I only own one. V1.

V1 has been the standard for as long as I can remember. I had a Whistler, Bel, Cobra Passport and that big honkin Escort. None of them could touch the range of the V1. The features in the new Passport 9500i look toward the future and definitely have my interest. I plan on ordering one just to play with for the 30 day trial. I will post some observations when I do. Seems they are still working out the bugs.

Never heard of the RX75 until now; sure is pricey.

Try asking in this forum http://www.radardetector.net/ - Very non-biased.

I have never used the RX75, so I wont comment on it. However, the K40 is one of the worst radars ever made, and it almost never works.

my friend , whoever you've seen with a K40 installed and it's junk must have done it wrong. I install them all day on high end cars , no not cheap bmws , i'm talking ferraris and lambos.. (pics to prove) and they praise it all day long from stopping speeding tickets.

I agree with you that most high end cars have it installed. Reason being is that its $1400, so it must be good. The reality is, it has been rated one of the worst radars for the better part of a decade. Its innaccurate, just beeps and blinks, overpriced, and mostly falses. Ive seen/installed a number of them in my day, they are not comparable with a V1. Most of the money that company spends on R&D is spent on stealth and things that simply dont matter on radars.

Basically.....EVEN if it was in third place (which it never was)....its three times more expensive then the #1 and #2 radars, and by laws of economics, what does that make that?

Here is a review from an online reviewer.....

K40 suggests that many of their customers are more concerned with retaining a gadget-free interior than in identifying the threat. If so, we'd venture that many either ignore most warnings or spend a great deal of time needlessly standing on the brakes in reaction to microwave signals that are of no consequence.

Pretty much exactly what I said.
If you think they are great, more power to you. I have used them extensively in my days, and think they are subpar. If they cost $199, MAYBE I would say its ok, but its nothing more than some flashing LEDs and 2 band sensors with long wires.

actually the Beltronics RX75 Plus appears to be *exactly* the same as
the Escort SR7 Plus.
