Bench Results for MBQ RAA4200
i got this from my friend who posted this on another forum. enjoy.
This time around, all channels were working, unlike a previous RAA2400 I had tested.
As for turn on pop, on my test bench, I didn't hear any, but that may change when used in the car.
This amp is pretty solidly build, good sized heatsinks.
Now for the #'s:
Fronts bridged 3ohm mono
60.9A 12.9v (54.1% efficient)
35.7v 1.3% Thd (425watts x1)
424.83watts
Rears only 4ohm stereo
30.6A 13.3v (61% efficient)
22.27V 1.00% Thd (124watts x2)
Front bridged 3ohm + rear stereo 4ohm
81.4A 12.48v (57.8 % efficient)
34.5v (397watts x1) + 19.5v (95watts x2)
All Channels driven 4ohm
55A 12.95V (63.1% efficient)
21.2v 1.5%thd (112.4watts x 4)
Amp got warm to the touch after the testing, but didn't get super duper hot. Power was pretty consistant even as it warmed up. Overall, a great buy.

Hey, whats the price difference between the MBQuarts and the equal competitor model of Rockford....I have a sneaking suspicion that the guts of the MBQUART amps are from Rockford...if so, and the MBs cost more, i dont think they are worth the premium.

the retail of the MBQ amp is above $600 or so. the rating for it is 100x4.
the retail of the T8004, which comes closest in actual power during bench testing is retailed at about $800 something. it is rated at 50x4
the retail of the 15004 is something in the $1400-$1600 which is rated at 125x4.
well, there should be no suspicion that MB Q amps are rockford amp. i mean everyone knows rockford built them. inside the of the MBQ amp, it has 2 power supplys. it should be 4 since it is called a quad mono. but from the pics i have seen before, there are 2 power supplys. amps are pretty simliar in design. iirc, the MB amp uses better quality parts, so i have heard.
Wow, thanks for the tip in the other thread on this. It caught my attention when I noticed the price on Cruthfield. I just bought it last night for my 6.1 perfects and sub enclosure (yet to be purchased). For my scenario I guess I would have it configured similar to this config:
Front bridged 3ohm + rear stereo 4ohm
81.4A 12.48v (57.8 % efficient)
34.5v (397watts x1) + 19.5v (95watts x2)
