Default Best 6.5 Component Set for '03

I'm looking for the top of the curve, where best value meets best quality and performance, best bang for the buck, overall excellent, "7.5-8" out of "10", 6.5" components for my '03 S.

As there are a handful of roadsters out there and there is only one that is top of the curve where value meet quality and performance. I want the same in a component speaker.

I don't want to read anymore bs as what sounds a tad brighter and what seems a little more punchy and all that crap. I don't want anyone to tell me to go to some audio store full of sales whores who push whatever has more margin.

Tell me what to buy damnit. I want the s2000 of component speakers.

It's not some low end Kenwood comp set, nor is it the Focal K2 or the BA Z6.

Tell me what you know.

Tell me where to go.

Thanks in advance.

(please to all of the above)

Isn't that a video game? Kind of like a reverse Breakout?

What you need, PKJ3, is a counter like WisconsinS2K has:

what does "best bang for your buck" mean to you? What is your "10"? Top of the curve? you probably can not afford it. I know i cant.
So you should be asking:

"Hey, this is how much money i have allocated to this portion of my install $?. What can i get for this price that fits these requirement: (list your requirements)"

My choice would be either Xetec Audio's Gravity series 6.5 components w/ super tweeter. or the Focal Utopia's. Both sets will run you about $1000.00 or less. I like these because they simply sound very good for the type of music i like to listen to. Hiphop and R&B are nowhere near the top of the list. If a grand is too much, then i would recommend the diamond audio hex series 6.5 component w/ silk dome for roughly $600.00. If that is still too much money, then ive heard the infinity refrence series components to be tits. hope this helps.

and Focal, and Rainbow, and Quarts, and Boston Acoustics.

Listen to a whole bunch of speakers and choose what is right for you. you've got to listen to the stereo, not us.

if you've got champagne dreams, be prepared to get an amp, and a new Headunit, if you haven't already. a simple speaker swap isn't going to give you great sound. it will give you marginally better sound, maybe even worse. so, if you get an amp you may as well get a four channel, because you want to prepare for a sub.

anyhow , listen to speakers with your music. then re-create that set up in your car.

The question can't be anymore clear.

Top of the curve where overall quality meets value.

Thanks anyway.

Jim and John... please forgive me.

YOU'RE A HUGE NERD

mommy, he hurt my feelings....

booohoooo hoooo hoooo hooo hooooooo!

and i say it again -- Jumping Jesus on a pogo stick! is that the best you can do to attempt and flame me? holy cow! here ya go... this should help for next time.

either way... i'm a nerd? thank you for such a flattering comment. thanks to the success of Bill Gates, who i might remind you is the richest man in America, calling me a nerd will no longer make me break down and cry... now, it's like taunting me with a mantra for success and wealth. if you really want to hurt my feelings... call me a jock. professional atheletes and their behaviors of late have established themselves as the new curse. jocks everywhere should be ashamed of themselves....

and honestly? i prefer the term geek, thank you very much.

either way, in this situation - you are the fool. not i.

The question can't be anymore clear.

Top of the curve where overall quality meets value.

Thanks anyway.
actually, the question couldn't be any LESS CLEAR you shallow minded dolt.

"HEY EVERYONE! TELL ME WHAT TO BUY! I WANT THE BEST CAR! THE BEST!! BANG FOR BUCK!"

duh... well, if you're flipping Whoppers ™ at ole BK, that best bang for the buck will be "whatever gets you from A to Z efficiently, reliably, and cheap."
but, if you're a CEO for an international fast food chain... oh heck, let's say BK again... the best bang for the buck would easily be a Ferrari 550 Maranello... a great combination of performance and luxury in a GT package.
and there are an infinite group of other situations in between... hundreds or even thousands of cars to choose from to match countless circumstances.

you want the best speaker for the money? how much money? how much do you have to spend? what do you want to spend? how much will you mod your car? how soon do you want them? what do you listen to? what do your ears prefer? are you half deaf? do you have good hearing?

ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer.... well bud, you asked a choice stupid one... i gave you (what i feel) is a perfectly matched answer.

but then again -- i was always taught that there are no stupid questions... just stupid people. i wonder if that's true?

either or -- Willie gave you something resembling a good answer. but now you've even edited your post and original question... what? is that a please tucked in there? oh my gawd. it is.... wow.

let's take a second to look at your revisions
I don't want to read anymore bs as what sounds a tad brighter and what seems a little more punchy and all that crap. I don't want anyone to tell me to go to some audio store full of sales whores who push whatever has more margin.

Tell me what to buy damnit. I want the s2000 of component speakers.

It's not some low end Kenwood comp set, nor is it the Focal K2 or the BA Z6.

Tell me what you know.

Tell me where to go.
now, ya see? the Focal K2's would have been my FIRST suggestion for a good bang for buck solution? and why? well, because i bought them of course... they matched my needs and my budget. jeez, see how this goes? we can't help you at all because you gave us NO reasonable information.

no more BS about brighter or punchy or anything?! well good God man, just walk into some store or go to Crutchfield -- pick a random pair of speakers and stick them in... w/o us qualifying your needs our opinions are meaningless...

so - you want some speakers heh? no kenwoods, and not too expensive. and you don't want to think? wow, it's rare you meet people who are willing to admit they are mindless sheep.

GO BUY THESE SPEAKERS

there ya go. now, STFU.

There are some members on this board who you should think twice before you start disrespecting. A lot of guys on here has been around for so long and are regulars, who post informative topics often.

I don't post as much as some ppl, but I am in the electronic's forum quite often.

I have to disagree with you. You came into their house, and your the new-comer.
