best ideas for getting bass into cabin
I pulled the spare tire built an amp rack and put a 12" in the trunk until I can get custom 10" sub boxes made for the sides. I've had this same setup in my Tahoe and in the trunk of a grand am and it was awesome in the S2K I can barely tell I have a sub sounds better with top down, which boggles the mind. Is there any ideas of porting or somehow getting the bass into the cabin? without to heavily modding the car? I searched and didn't see anything.
the vents behind the seats lead to the trunk. there are some insulation
flaps hanging down over the openings on the trunk side - you can remove
those (but I don't know if it makes a noticeable difference). you could also
create some openings in the trunk liner between the trunk and gas tank/
spare tire area. Both of those will also help amp cooling.

Hmm, that's strange. What amp settings do you have, and how is the sub/box oriented? There is basically a huge space from the trunk to the cabin (right to the back seat area). I have a relatively weak 10" on the side of the trunk and sometimes even on low levels, some songs are too strong.

That's pretty strange. Lower bass frequencies are much "wider" and it usually really doesn't matter where you point the sub. It will naturally just go everywhere. Is the amp set correctly? Do you actually hear a difference if you point it towards you?
i have a custom jl audio box where the tools are located with a 10" jl sub and a kenwood amp. the amp powers my cabin speakers along with the sub. its not earth shattering like all the ricer kids with the trunk ratteling, but you can def feel the bass on the seats. sounds a lot better when you can hear the bass and not hear your car shake.
bass soundwaves usualy sound better when pointed to the rear and letting them bounce to the front, I can hear the bass it's just at a lower level than I'm used to even when the sub is in a trunk. I know the amp is set right have it at 100 hrtz with a steep drop off slope and the thing is pounding away. I may try another sub to make sure.
