best way to connect ipod to 2006 factory headunit?
I have a Hon-Aux connector that plugs into the back where the 6 disc cd changer would normally plug in. Then it runs under the shift boot and comes out on the opening for the ebrake and plugs into the headphone jack. perfect spot for my nano. I'm about to be upgrading here in the next week and would be willing to sell it to you. Let me know. Oh, its hooked up on a MY05.

You can get a factory interface from the dealer.

in my MY04 for a couple years now with no problems. My friend also has one in his BMW and he's had his for longer than I've had mine.

That's what I use with the IPod resting on a piece of foam in the centre console.
