Bestbuy know how to inctall Modifry DCI ?
I am thinking of upgrading my headunit. If I buy one of their headunit and give them a Modifry DCI do you guys think Bestbuy or Circuit City would know how to install it or they would have no idea what a DCI is ?
Print all of the instructions from modifry's website for the head unit you are looking to buy and show them to your prospective installer. Watch their reactions carefully - if you see even a hint of fear or apprehension as they read the instructions thank them for their time and go find another place to buy from/install.
The instructions that come with modifry's DCI leave very little room for doubt about what needs to be done even for amateurs and any experienced installer should see it as a simple task.

As much as I hate all these places....the DCI is so easy to install, you can let em do it. Although Id feel much better giving you my number and walking you through the entire install, so that
1) You can do it yourself and learn.
B)Be proud you did it.
Let me know if you are interested in doing it yourself. It really is 3 brain cell easy.

Agreed - the only reason for having your installer do it is if there is a potential installer warranty issue on the table. In my case the work of the place I had do my head unit, amp and peripherals has a several year work warranty on their installs, so I took my wired DCI to them to make sure they are still on the hook for it. The general manager looked over the install docs and tossed out a $65 install fee for the wired DCI including the Alpine interrupt and speed control connections and this became part of their install warranty within about 3 minutes of seeing the docs modifry has on his site.
I can take the car back for any wiring issues I run into and they will deinstall everything and reinstall the OEM unit when I want to sell the car for free.

It is super easy to install a aradio and DCI in this car. If you are intent on having an installer do it, I agree with the part above about bringing the directions. Any decent installer will have no problems because its all just hooking wires up. Buy the Modifry wiring harness and its very simple.
Also, fwiw, I ran my DCI control module out from behind the radio and secured it behind the passenger dash panel so I could modify the speed settings easily if I wanted to.

I initially went to them to install the DCI. It was a PITA to schedule, as they HAVE to perform all installs on Best Buy / Circuit City products BEFORE they can get to your car.....MAJOR pain. I ended up re-scheduling twice before saying "Screw it, me and my buddy can do this."
