Default BlitzSafe adapter "HON/XM DMX DELPHI V.1D UPC CODE: 764244-89002" ?

HON/XM DMX DELPHI V.1D UPC CODE: 764244-89002

Has anyone tried/used this adapter?

I was told by a car stereo dealer that this model would give me an aux in (for my XM satellite radio) and let me still use the OEM Honda changer.

I have an e-mail in to Blitzsafe to confirm, but no answer so far.

They DO make adapters now that will allow you to Alpine and maybe Pioneer changers with the OEM stereo and add an aux in. Just not sure if I can keep the OEM changer or not. If not, then I guess I will get an FM modulator Of course, top down at 80mph I would doubt I could hear the difference....

Thanks!
Dennis

I don't know about that one, but I've heard other S2k owners use this

My understanding from talking to Blitzsafe is that you cannot use the adapter as an aux in AND still use the OEM changer.

I don't know what your particular fetish is with the stock headunit, but pioneer makes some pretty nice XM ready units cheap with more power than stock. While i've gone a couple steps above this, i'm sure it would power everything quite nicely. Upgrading the door speakers will help also.

I looked into XM for the S, but at the time there were no good mounting options that had been thuroughly tested (especially with the hardtop) My system sounds beautiful above 100mph, but it's got an amp, and Boston Acoustics pro series speakers, and like i said, even without going all out, you'll get better performance with just a HU. my .02

go with the Kenwood Music Keg. its great you have 10 gigs of mp3's in your car, and no monthly fee! i had XM i liked it alot, but now that i have the Music Keg i like this better. its all about personal preferance.

p.s even with the hard top you will get signal for your satellite radio system. the signal goes right through the fiberglass if you have your antenna mounted inside your car. the top is fiberglass isnt it???? lol

My car (used) came with the OEM changer so I decided to stick with the OEM system. I upgraded the door speakers (Polks) and added Lucid rear panels (also w/Polks). With a MY2002 OEM head unit I can hear the system just fine top down going 80. With 2 cars, 2 motorcycles, and a pickup truck I only drive the S when I can put the top down. I figured spending a ton of money on a nice aftermarket system would just be a waste of money - I still think that . If the S were my everyday car, then I guess I would be more concerned about the "perfect sound" - but then maybe not.

I currently have a Sony Plug and Play XM tuner. I use it in the daily driver, all day at work, and on the motorcycles. So for one $9.95 monthly fee I get a TON of music. I was hoping the BlitzSafe would let me keep the changer and add XM to the mix. Worst case, I can get the FM modulator - or I could unplug the changer and use the PIE aux adapter.

I also have a 6gb Archos MP3 jukebox and a 10gb Nomad - so once I get aux in set up I can use either of those without a problem.

I have the antenna just stuck on the parcel shelf of the BMW - works fine "under glass". Around town here you can have it laying on the passenger seat - we must have a lot of repeaters here. I am guessing that on the S I will stick the antenna someplace other than the body of the car. In the 'vette, I used to just place it on the "shelf" behind the passenger seat and it worked fine.
