Bose sparetire sub with external amp
Got an Alpine MPR-M200 off ebay for $60 which puts out a conservative 100-150W mono and wired up the Bose sparetire and the the 4 aura bass shakers I have on the seats in series.
Popping noise is a moot issue with the separate amp. Knowing how loud this popping sound is though is a good indicator of the potential of this little sub enclosure.
After the hookup...WOW. This thing is very efficient and hits very well.
The surprising thing were the bass shakers. I wasn't that impressed with them running off the bose amp but these things REALLY shake the seats when you feed them a good dose of amperage. I might have to disconnect the passenger seats because my wife complains of being sea sick when the bass is going.
So if you want an easy install with NO loss of trunk space, this is a inexpensive excellent solution!
