voice coming from sub. Not much bass.
ok well just got a full sound system installed and the bass seems pretty weak. I was checking with my freind today and he could hear vocals and other music coming from the 10 inch sub in the trunk.
I listened and also heard it. The bass seems really weak and it is hard to tell if most the bass is coming from the components or the sub.
I have them all wired to a 4 Channel soundstream amp. Is something wrong? I really hope so because It is hard to really feel the bass from
the sub. Seems to be more from the speakers.

Does your soundstream amp come with LP/HP crossover? Some amp comes with it and some don't, it gives you a choice whether to play just bass/music/or both through your sub. Hope that helps...
I did not see any option like that on the AMP.
One thing I did see what a switch thats said "ATT" had an option for on or off. It was on before. I turned it off and the bass from the sub went up, but still has the voice and that just got louder now as well. All the other adjustments are for equalizer, gain, and like other tuning options I guess. I just can't get most of the bass to come from the sub like it should, so I don't have to crank the bass with my components. Does it sound like it was just wired in as a speaker instead of a sub? My head unit has no option to adjust the sub, only adjust bass as a whole. The head unit is a brand new Eclipse CD4000.

Look for a switch that says "Filter". Should have settings for it labeled LPF, HPF, OFF, or FULL. Usually 2 or 3 of those choices. Switch that to LPF and you should be good. If you dont have that as an option on the amp, then it doesn't have a built in crossover and you need to purchase one.

There us a cross over on the head unit. Would that do the same thing? I know I can adjust everything from there.
In truth though, as long as your amp is set to LPF on the filter setting, the headunit settings wouldnt give you the problem you are having. Check that first and foremost.

OK sweet I just was able to put the sub to LPF. At first the speakers had no sound hardly coming from them and then did some adjusting(hope I didn't mess anything up) but I got it to sound much much better now. Tons of bass, my whole trunk shakes now. Got real nice sound inside too. Lots of treble and not too much bass. I adjusted both the speakers and the sub the "ATT" switch to off, whatever that is. But sounds much better with it off. And I adjusted the gain a bit and the LPF dial more for the sub and got it sounding really nice. I knew my system sounded like crap when I got it back. Night and day difference after doing some tweaking with it. Thanks a lot for the help. Are there riskis in switching stuff when you don't know what you are doing but it sounds real good lol?
You should be alright, just don't turn the gain all the way up or you may be sending a dirty signal to the sub.
Where did you get the system installed? I'd be calling and talking to a manager if they didn't configure the system worth a damn.

Yeah got it put in at a best buy in NJ. Guess they really sucked. I think part of the problem was I was the last car before closing, so they probably ran out of time or something. The gain I think is about half way up right now.
Whats up with the sub boost? Is that just how hard the sub hits? Didn't seem to make a big difference when I adjusted that that I could tell.
Anyone know what the "ATT" switch is? Has an on off setting only.
Which setting should the speakers be on for sound. I have the sub now on LPF and the speakers on "full" or something like that I think.
Also on the amp there is an equalizer knob thing. I guess it measures Hertz or something. How is that supposed to be set?
