Boston Acoustics RX67's
I should be talking delivery of my new s2k in a few weeks and I'm already looking forward to upgrading it. My first upgrade is gonna be the speakers. I currently have a set of Boston Acoustics RX67's (6.5 coaxials). I was just wondering if anybody has installed these particular speakers in their s2k. I'm wondering if they fit and how they sound. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Seth -
The S2K's OEM speakers are horrible. I had a pair of 6.5 Boston Pro's installed a couple of weeks after I got my car. I had to add an amp but it was definitly worth it. Since you only have room for 2 speakers (max 6.5") I suggest you don't skimp on this one. I would highly recommend the Boston Pro 6.5s (don't know if it's the same as your Boston 67's).
I don't know too many details on the install because I had a professional shop install my speakers (I didn't want to risk screwing up my new baby) They said they had to cut out the black basket that held the old factory speakers to make everything fit. The tweeter on the Boston Pros can also be mounted under the grill (like co-axial) so no cutting into your door nor dash. It's an invisible install and it looks great.

Agreed. I have the same set-up with an Xtant amp. You'll really want to consider putting an amp in with the speakers (mine is in the trunk where the toolkit used to be) as it will make a tremendous difference in the richness of the sound of the speakers, as well as driving the volume with the top down. Good luck!!
