Default Boston Pros Cutting in and out

I had a set of Boston Pro 6.5's installed in the stock locations (cross-over in the door as well) a few years ago. Lately I noticed the passenger side would cut in and out. Now it is mostly out. Every now and then, after hitting a bump it will start back up again until I hit another bump.

I have taken the door apart numerous times and cut back wires to make sure they weren't touching one another and looked everything over and it seems fine. With the door off it seems to work fine. I can get it to cut out sometimes by putting pressure on the speaker cables though. Also while driving, by pulling on the door handle it sometimes comes back on.

Any ideas what this could be? Is the cross-over going out? Both speakers cut out so I know it has to be at the cross-over or before it (swapped outputs and the amp is fine) but I can't see any other way for it to be shorting out.

Would appreciate any advice.

Sounds like the speaker wire is shorting out on the metal of the car somewhere.
What other gear do you have?
You could try rewiring them in the door from the crossover to the speaker and see if that fixes the problem. It could be a very small short.

That's what I was thinking, but since both speakers are cutting out, I would assume that the short is coming prior to the cross-over correct? Or will both speakers cut out if either of them short after the cross-over?

I have an Alpine deck feeding a Soundstream Van Gogh in the trunk. Boston Pros in the doors and a 10" JBL in the tool well. RCAs and speaker wire up the center console and power ran along the passenger side (I think, it's been a while).
