Default few questions regarding wired DCI install

1) should i be trimming the wires on the stereo adapter / dci / headunit plug if I want to fit all the wires and the dci behind and under my headunit? i heard theres not enough room behind the headunit and you really gotta push the wires back. is there enough space for me to fit the spliced wires that haven't been trimmed.

2) I have a model year 05. I heard that from another install on AP2 (06+) that I should take apart my shifter housing and glove. is this necessary or can I just install it via detaching the front face only like the AP1 installs.

1) Yes, trim the length on the harness if you want an easy fit. It's tight back there.

2) You might be able to disassemble it without removing the center console, but reassembling will be a real pain.

They really need to sticky this thread: DIY Headunit Install Guide for AP2.
