So i just put some boston pros in my doors the other day cause as we know the factory suck and mine really sucked since the previous owner blew them. The pros that i installed are about 3 years old. I had them in my last S2000. Over the past 3 years they have been in the original box in a cabinet in my garage. They are just running off the factory HU right now till I can get a good aftermarket and an amp. For some reason when i put the bass on like 4 and the volume on 20-25 the driver side will pop sometimes. What could be causing this. The speakers were sounding perfect in the old car. Surely they didnt crap out just sitting in the box. The factory HU is not pushing nearly enough power to overpower them so what could cause the pop.

 

You have them way UNDER powered. They are distorting.

 

I have the same speakers and have them powered by my JL 300/2
