Default Bought my car with Pioneer Nav

Guys,

Bought my car with a Pioneer touchscreen (AVD-W6210) already in the dash hooked to a AVIC-80DVD for Nav. Car also has a Pioneer DEH-6600 HU installed.

I've got three questions:

1) Nav unit reports an "irregular speed pulse" with some regularity which probably means that the speed sensor connection is loose or improperly installed. Anybody know where that connection gets made?

2) Nav is great, but I'd find the touchscreen useful more often if I could use it to display audio info in addition to the NAV. Nav instructions indicate this is possible, but does anyone know which HUs I can link to the touchscreen?

3) Finally - anybody know if the Pioneer IPOD interface functionality can be extended to the touchscreen to give me any control from onscreen?

Any other random info you think would be useful about this gear would be appreciated

Thanks.

Soooo....I take it the swap for my stock dash is out? Good to see you enjoy it.

As far as your questions....

1) They most likely tapped into the speed wire that is under the center console.....same one that keeps the top from going down when the car is moving, and the same the Modifry DCI taps into. Check there first.

2) This has to do with the HU.....most likely not. You will need a video out on the HU to display this information....as far as I know....The HU probably displays this into on the faceplate. I would imagine you could get that signal and somehow relay it up to the screen....not sure how that would be done. Modifry, Project, or MacGyver could probably better answer that one.

3) I dont know on this one.....but once again, I figure this has to do with the HU. It sound like, from your discription, that the NAV and HU are two separate systems. I do not think it will be possible....but it might. I would guess it to be a fairly involved process as well, if it were possible.

John,

Thanks for the reply. I think I'm going to keep the NAV. But if I change my mind you've got first right of refusal on a deal

With the nav unit under the passenger seat, where would be the most logical place to find the speed sensor connection? Still center console, or might it be further back somewhere nearer to the hardtop motor?

Thanks.Chris.

ummmm.....there is a motor for the hardtop? I think the one at the center console is the only one....that is the one that works with the soft top. I got a Honda Service manual if you want a copy (digital format). Just PM me your email address....there should be some wiring diagrams in there somewhere.

You mean you don't have the retractable hardtop on your car?

My bad. Will send PM re: diagrams.
