NFR,

Which lights did you need the added resistor for exactly?

Superbright LED's sells reverse lights......7443 and 7440 are THE SAME and fit THE SAME from them for some reason.

(I have their LED's in my reverse lights and they fit like a glove)

As for your question Rob,

you need resistors in ALL turn signals (not the sidemarkers)
if you do not get them, your car will have a ricy/annoying hyperblink.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Does anybody make an "Anti-Rice" relay?

I have seen replacement blinker relays advertised that will make your lights blink fast even when you use regular light bulbs, but I've not seen one that makes them blink slow. If they make one that's adjustable you should be able to use it and avoid having to install the resistors. Not using the resistors also means you regain the power savings of using LED's.

While I could make a slow relay or an adjustable relay it would never be as cheap as the mass-marketed devices.

, but because of the voltage difference ( 0.5V vs 12V) I got the dreaded hyperblink.

Modifry.....you are correct, my mistake.....I should have said current......Everything electronic on the car is 12V I believe. But yea, since the LED's use less current (i got this from BMW), the car thinks you have a light out or something and hyperblinks. Superbrightleds.com sell resistors at like 4.00 a pop, which I believe either draws and dissipates, or fools the car into thinking everything is normal. But overall, modifry is right, its not volts, its amps.

ah... the 7440 and 7443 bulbs differ in that the 7443 is 'dual contact'...an LED replacement for 'dual filament' bulbs. Just wondering if anyone knows if you plug this bulb into the reverse light, will it be on the bright setting or normal?

Sounds good NFR!!! I would like to see pictures also. I have wanted
to do the LED thing but haven't yet. I was even considering the O4 taillights
because of this.... so lets see some pics. BTW since your whole car is LED
maybe you should consider the LED dash light conversion that DJ Cube is
working on.

Could you just make a module to modify the signals that the relay sees and generates? That could be the easiest and cheapest way to go, no?
