Default Building box with plexiglass

So, I'm gonna be fiberglassing my trunk in the tool well, yadda yadda, you know how it goes.

So, I was gonna have the sub sit about 1-2 inches from the top of the trunk. It's a 12" Infinity Perfect and only needs about 1 cubic foot for optimum boom.

Now, I don't want a ported enclosure. I love the sound of sealed, I used to have a ported/sealed interchangeable Q-Logic box in my Prelude, and I always used the sealed insert.

That being said, if I wanted to make a plexiglass top for the enclosure, should I leave it vented somewhere? I'm not sure how it will sound. Is this still considered a single sealed enclosure? How will the sound waves travel in an enclosed box like I am talking about. For a better understanding, see following high-quality sketch.

Do you guys suggest keeping it an open air box into the trunk? I don't need a lot of boom, just clean, crisp bass, but if it's loud, all the better.

Kinda like this setup, but without the ports and vents all over.

So, any and all info is appreciated. My main concern is how it will sound. I haven't heard a system set up like this, and my biggest question is whether or not I should have the top level vented or not. Not sure how it will sound with the waves bouncing off the plexiglass like so.

PLEASE HELP!

Ive heard a system with the similar boxes that darknight sells and it sounds great! Im building something like that myself right now. What you can do to make life easier is pick up a box either from darknight or from someone selling it here. Take the top of the box off (the piece with the hold for the sub) Have a piece of plexi made identical to that piece. screw it back to the box (predrill your holes) then make a false floor to cover it up and only leave what you want exposed.

Thanks for the info, however I don't have the time nor money to sit around and wait for a box to be made and shipped here.

So, I am going to go ahead and make this box, to start I'll just make it open air in the trunk, see how it sounds. Then, I'll make the top cover the following week/weekend out of plexiglass and see how that works.

Anyone got info specifically regarding how the soundwaves will reflect on this set up? That is, almost like a bandpass with no ports/vents?
