EDIT: Sorry - typed 12 in the subject when I meant 10!

I want the e10A.22 sub for the tool well. But I'm at a loss as to understand which amp to pursue. Intend to mount the eventual amp vertically (removing the spare) on a board along with a Phoenix Gold 600.2 (or maybe the Tarantula TR700-2) for the Focal fronts.

So, for the sub - One channel D cause it runs cooler? Two channel A/B is ok? 2 ohm? 4 ohm? Bridged?

Does the e10A.22 act as if it was two speakers thus I need a two channel amp but it needs to be stable at 2 ohms?

Can someone help me out here? Cause it's making my eyes rolls back in my head.

D class amps do generally run cooler... they provide a cost effective way to power a sub. personally (and i do mean this is my opinion only), i prefer class AB amps over D amps due to sound quality... but they run hotter, are less efficient, are bigger, and generally cost more. your call...

for the e10A.22, whatever you get, chances are you'll want to wire it in series to get a 4 ohm total load. so, you'll want to plan on getting an amp that is mono 4 ohm stable, providing the power you want at 4 ohms.

you could wire it stereo w/ a 2 ohm stereo stable amp (a 2 ohm stereo stable amp will generally only be 4 ohm mono stable anyway.). but you'd get the same power to the sub. (bridged amps will generally approach 4x's their power in stereo at the same resistance. an amp in stereo at 2 ohms will generally produce 2x's the power vs 4 ohms, plus you have 2 channels... so, 4x's the power, just like when bridged.)

if it were me, i'd wire the DVC (dual voice coil) in series, bridge an A/B amp (or use a mono D amp), and run it mono.

does this help? if you'd like explanations for any of this, just buzz...

According to the site.......

Dual 2ohm voice coils......

RMS 650-1300

I would get an amp that 500 or so x2 @ 2ohms.

A great amp seems to be the Soundstream Tarantula TR880/2
440x2 @ 2ohms RMS.

Here is a sick deal on the amp.
