can stock alternator handle 1000w sub?
I'm looking to upgrade my stock speakers and have a nice 1000w amp and sub to install and was wondering if doing so is going to overwork the stock alternator? I'm not looking to blast down the road, just want to give my sound a little more ooomph!
I've been reading around about installing rear speakers and replacing the stock, something I am definitely going to do. Any good head unit suggestions that fit well and keep the left hand controls working?
Thanks!

I have a Soundstream Rubicon 1002 running at 4ohm driving my door speakers, a Rubicon 702 at 2ohms driving a 10" sub and a 150 watt amp driving my Aura bass shakers.
That's >1200 watts and I have no power issues whatsoever.
I have the Kenwood Excelon 994 with the Modifry DCI and like it a lot. My only complaint is that it is a little hard to read in bright sunlight. Great deck for $300 though.
Let me know if you want pictures.
