Default Car Alarm recommendations?

Can anyone here recommend a good car alarm for the S2K? Specific brands and models would be really helpful. Also, what features should I look for in an alarm? About how much would it run for the alarm + install? (As you can see, this is the first time I've had to buy a car alarm). Thanks for any help!

I have a DEI Python 1000 with Proximity and windows up when arming. Any Python, Viper, or Clifford should do good. Just find a good shop to install the unit.

I have a friend that just got a Clifford and since they are now owned by DEI the have incorporated DEI's proximity sensor in the Clifford line of alarms. Just a side note.

A while back, Hofco made alarms that were far ahead of everyone else. Now, everyone has caught up, and the Cliffords and Alpines all have good alarms. The important part is to get a good installer. Make sure you get a proximity sensor. It will trigger the alarm if anyone reaches into the cockpit. There are 2 types, dual and single mode. The single mode only protects one region (inside the cockpit). The dual mode can protect 2 regions (inside the cockpit and the immediate area around the car).

sorry to bring up this old topic but i figured it would be better to add to an existing topic rather then starting a whole new thread. I searched and found threads from years ago but nothing commenting on recent alarms.
I am currently in the market for an alarm and willing to spend up to $500 including installation.
what do you guys think of this alarm system? Clifford Matrix 10.5X
mainly, I'm looking for an alarm with a proximity sensor, a pager and maybe windows up on arming features on top of all the extra security stuff.

What do you guys think about the Clarion Ungo series. I purchased the car start with LCD Pager and ended up selling it to another S2K member.

I'm happy with my Viper 1002. It was about $400 installed, including a proximity sensor.
