^ Exactly... Thats why its costing him a quoted $650 bucks. Sounds like the shop really doesn't want to do it. So they jumped the price hopeing he'd walk away.

ive seen more threads about people asking for help hooking up compustar alarms then any other brands. Even the compustar rep says that its a bit tougher than your average run of the mill brands. So pay the money and have it done correctly.

fyi: $650 is what Compustar require their dealers to advertise the alarm at..UNINSTALLED.

Ok guys... wow a lot of stuff to read.

Here is the DEAL. I just got SCYTEK alarm put in with full color LCD remote . The listed price was $650. End up just paying $510 (discounted )

The remote start is made for MANUALS. It waits for you to step out of the car while it's still running and arm it, then turns off the motor. check out scytek.net (5100RS series)

The thing that sucks, is that i have to have them do something else because of the chip inside of the key. I think it was like $100 extra... forgot... So it end up being less than $650. Is it worth it? I dunno we'll see. They haven't finished the remote start part.

I REALLY hate the 6 tonesiren. But I REALLY like the clifford soft churp sound. Anybody know a siren that is programable to use only 1 tone and has a soft churp when arming and disarming? thanks a lot guys!

all 6 tone sirens that I have seen can be made to play only one tone, if you want. You have to open up the siren itself and cut 5 of the 6 jumpers--each one represents a certain tone. voila.

DEI based alarms are

There is no point of them. They can be disarmed so easily its rediculous.

DEI used to be good, but the technology is primitive, and thieves know it. DOnt waste your money on a DEI alarm.
