Default Car possessed or just Viper?

Hey all. I just bought my 03 a couple days ago, and I haven't been able to open the door without the alarm going crazy. It has a Viper aftermarket alarm system, and the thing is stupid loud. I've tried unlocking with the stock clicker, the aftermarket clicker, and the alarm always goes off. Seems like the only way to stop the alarm is to close everything, lock both, then unlock with both. I do not want to have to deal with both all of the time, though. Any suggestions or ideas? I have a feeling that one or both auto arm, and I am supposed to unlock with both before opening anything.

It appears that you have both the stock alarm and a Viper actively installed on your car and you will need to unlock both to get in. Consider it a good thing theft is high on these babies.

I've seen a couple "soft chirp" sirens so it won't blare the horn twice when I unlock each. Are these easy to install? I can read a wiring diagram, but I don't know how the Viper sirens are rigged up, or if their sirens are part of the complete system.

When you the Viper is installed the factory alarm shouldn't be arming at all. It's really easy to install and uninstall. I just used the diy found on here and the diagram from Viper. The only problem is that there isn't any room under the dash so I had to squeeze what I could of myself under there with the seat out.
