Default Car Stereo Turns Off By Itself HELP

So I started noticing my Alpine CDE-137 started turning off on its own a couple a weeks ago

I thought it was temporary, so earlier this week it turns off every 30 sec to 1 min half all by itself and then lights up Alpine like when you first start the car

I called crutchfield the company that I ordered from and they told me to check some fuses they all seemed fine

They said its a problem with Alpine and they want me to send in the Head Unit with no replacement

But before I do this was wondering what else I can do to try and trouble shoot this

Any electrical experts in the Greater LA Area?? Looking for some help

Just want to make sure its the head unit and not some greater problem with my car wiring

A couple questions:
- in the (brief) time it is up and running, does music play normally?
- does it happen only when you are driving, or even when the engine is off?
as for the fuse, it's probably worth replacing them even if they appear ok
(there are two (#9 and #22, at least on an AP1), as a failing, but not blown,
fuse can produce some unpredictable problems.

-when the car is on and in idle not moving in the drive way yes the radio works
-the music sounds normal and It will work until you start driving
-I will look for those fuses they are in the box under the steering wheel

The fact that it only happens while driving suggests that there is a loose connection
somewhere - could be in the wiring harness, could be that a connector is not fully
seated, or could be an internal issue like a bad solder joint in the headunit itself.
To track it down, you'll need to try to replicate the problem by for instance jiggling
the harness while parked to see if that causes it.

This - more than likely a bad connection somewhere. It wouldn't hurt for you to pull the HU out and make sure all connections are good to go. You could have a bad harness connection or even a bad wire connection. If the problem persists after all that, then it is more than likely within the HU (as long as the fuses are also good to go).

If it completely turns off, it kind of sounds like a bad ground issue. Especially since your moving and it shuts off. A bump can loosen the ground for a second then reconnect it.

I hope this helps!

My problem has gotten worse

Everytime i shift from 1st to 2nd gear the dash will blink like when you first start the car 0 MPH full gas tank etc

Additionally when continuing to shift into other gears the dash will dim and the EPS logo will flash too

When this happens also the radio goes off and turns back on

This is much more than a ground issue I think their is a short in my car wiring somewhere

Any help is much needed, IF i go to a car shop and tell them this they will gouge my eyes out with price

Have you checked behind the head unit? Check that wiring first and then you can go from there. Also check the fuse box and make sure the fuses look good.

Checked the wiring behind head unit and that looks good everything connected

I checked the fuses and I am missing #9 and #22 both have to do with the radio. Going to audo zone and get new fuses hopefully that solves the issue
