Default CD Changer

I just bought a 2002. Is the car pre-wired for a CD changer? If so, where is the mounting location? What brand and model is the correct aftermarket version?

I bought a 03 a year ago, there is no wiring for a changer in the car. Nor is there wiring for rear speakers. The stock HU (radio) had two plugs on the back and only one plug was used, the changer is connected to the other plug. Honda wants an arm etc to install a changer. Crutchfield will sell you a changer and I think it will come with the plug.
This is not the way I went, consider replacing the HU with an MP3 unit, you will get more music then a normal changer will give you and the changer may be much easier to add later. Also you could add the wiring for rear speakers and a sub at the same time.

By the way the location would be in the trunk for the "stock" CD changer. I was told that it was an Alpine are the later stock UHs.

Thank you Andy, that was a big help. I used to live in San Jose for about 42 years. in my youth I tore it up up and down Magdalena Rd.

Some people have also mounted the changer under the driver's seat. There is not enought room under the passenger seat. Also, a slick way to do it is to mount the changer to the bottom of the seat itself, that way you can move the seat and the change goes with it. No loss of seat adjustment.

I also agree about getting a new HU and wiring up the whole car. The factory system in this car is VERY weak.
