CD Changer advice
can anyone help me with advice on a CD Changer? I want to put one I the trunk of my 2001. The player is stock.
Will this work?
Is there a particular brand that suits this car?
Can anyone recommend an installer in San Diego?
Thanks

The Alpine M-bus type changers work readily using a cheap adapter cable. Only fallback is they only play regular CD's no MP3 CD's.
You can use an Alpine Ai-Net changer which playes MP3's but the converter is about $100 and you don't get any song title text.
Also, many changers come with RF modulators that plug into your antenea input. These work decently well.

As you already have a computer My recomendation is to get a HU that will play MP3s and go that way. The Alpine 7894 I installed will play MP3s and hooking up a changer (Alpine) later will not require removing the HU. It will also play MP3s and just connect to a cable coming out of the HU. I mounted the changer under the drivers seat (mounted t the underside of the seat) and it does not interfear with the seat movement. This can be added later.

I have an Alpine CHM-S620 CD changer w/ cable and adapter to work w/ the OEM S2000 head unit, if you're interested. $125 + shipping.
It's in ex. cond. and I was very happy w/ it, but I just got an Alpine Ai-Net HU that isn't compatible w/ it.
