Default CD Changer re-install

Today I visited a car audio retailer for the purpose of obtaining a price quote for installing the OEM CD Changer that I "stole" from my '01 S the day before it was hauled off to the salvage yard. I want to have it installed or perhaps re-installed into my '03 S but was told by the retailer that doing so would "greatly compromise its performance" due to the need to "splice all the wires together again." Is that true, or is it ? Was this dude just trying to sell me one his CD Changers?

Thank you in advance for any and all help.

lol, what a salesman.

I honestly dont know the correct answer but from working with car audio for a damn long time, id say , if its fits and the connectors are the same or its a matter or running wires, your 100% fine and you could not lose any performance at all!

Thank you, AP ONE. That's what I thought, too. I'll have someone else install it some time next week.

Thank you again.

You know, AP ONE, that's an excellent idea. Do you know the name of your Alpine deck so that I can research it via a Google search?

Thank you.
