Default changed stock speakers...and WOW

hi all:

On my 02 s2k I just had the stock (crap!) speakers pulled out and installed a pari of Infinity Kappa 60.3cs 6-1/2" instead...All I have to say is wow! Now, here's the question:

When the guys installed them and I put in a CD, he couldn't believe that there was no amp in the car! He said there is no way that a stock deck can pull these speakers...but it does and I am VERY happy with the results...Does anyone have any specs on the 02 system?

Cheers,
Allen

You think that sounds good, wait until you step up to powering those speakers with a amp.

Well, he can explain it better than I can, but here goes. The stock deck does not have wires to run to the rear even though it is a four channel deck. Lucid sells a harness for the deck to enable you to run wires to the rear speakers. He also sells pre-cut panels for the rear with or without speakers. Most people are quite happy with the ease of install. The stock front speakers are junk. Try the search function to see what other people with MY00 or MY'01 have done with the tweeters. MY'02 has factory tweeters mounted in the doors.
