changed stock speakers...and WOW
Allen_j or anyone,
I appreciate your feedback on the Kappas.
Most guys that put Infinity speakers in the 2002 s2000 seem to go with the 605cs instead of the Kappa 60.5cs. I noticed that both can be driven with as little as 2 watts rms which explains how you are able to power them with the stock HU. Both have a 270 watt maximum, but the 605 cs are $100.00 cheaper and have increased sensitivity of 92 dB instead of the 90 dB for the Kapppa's.
With the stock HU wouldn't the 605's sound even a little better than the Kappas, or do you recommend just getting the Kappas with the 90 dB sensitivity because you KNOW they work well with the stock amp. (BTW I am also already powering rear Kenwoods with the stock HU. They are Lucids 5 1/4 that need 2-35 rms and are 91 dB sensitivity.)
I am trying to stay with the stock HU and also avoid an amp for weight and space savings.
Do the Kappas and/or 605's need additional hardware and do they fit in the oem baskets?

Sorry if I'm jumping in here without having read through all of the stereo threads. This is the first I've heard that the stock head unit has 4 channels of amplification. It leads to a question that has probably been asked and answered elsewhere but here goes anyway:
Can I use the stock head unit to biamp the fronts (a dedicated channel for each tweeter and a dedicated channel for each midrange)? Is there a high quality component set out there that the stock head unit can handle but with a crossover sophisticated enough to allow biamping? And, while we're at it, can we have something ultra-sensitive like the Infinitis mentioned above?
Hope this hasn't been discussed too many times before. Thanks for listening.
