Cheapo Speakers
Ok, I'm thinking the time has come for me to spend a little bit and upgrade my 10+ yr old speakers on the daily driver. I own a 97 EK hatch. I'm looking to put some speakers in the doors, running off the headunit which a cheapo aiwa (already installed). I'm looking to spend about $50 + shipping and be done with it. I think I'll take out the rears since they're blown and just rattle. What speakers should I get and where from (what about baffles?)? I don't know much about electronics, but I'm sure I can figure out how to install them. Lastly, do I need to upgrade the OEM speaker wires? Thanks

I haven't tried these personally, but they are known as the cheapest "best bang for the buck" speakers in the car audio world.

Every great deal I've seen on speakers seems like the biggest ripoff compared to these

Def would like to know more on these. Anyone have experience with them?
As for the OP, I recommend going to best buy or circuit city, listen to their absolute best and priciest coaxial speakers that fit the EK, then go home and buy the ones you liked the best on Ebay

(IMO, Infinitys are a good way to go for cheap money)
