I just posted this at the bottom of a thread in Car Talk, thought I'd post it here too..

SH!T

The clarion does NOT fit...
This morning I took the passenger seat out and tried every different angle to get that thing in there and have the rails still line up.. Not gonna happen- I did take apart the clarion, and I think I'm just going to attach the 6.5 to the bottom of the seat. The little amp in there is only like 5in x 4in, so I know that it'll fit. I'm saving that project for this weekend and will post results, unless anyone has any better ideas?

BTW - The Sony 450 MP3 deck (From Pinky) rocks, it's only halfway installed right now, but having 167 songs on one CD kicks major ass

Okay, since no one else is replying, I guess I'll offer ideas to myself...

So the clarion is basically a 6.5in speaker (not very deep) with a little 4in x 5in amp, all packaged in a big chunk of plastic.

What if:
I get rid of the plastic, and somehow get the speaker and little amp in the Secret Compartment? And this would HAVE to be done with out damaging any of the interior (no drilling, etc).

Am I on Crack? Is there a better place to do this (under the passenger side dash? In the roof well?) Thoughts?

damn...I thought about that...but when I took it apart, it was pretty much empty, except for one square channel coming out the side...

looks like I'm just gonna toss it under my drivers seat and forget about it...
Thanks

Well, I went to put it under the drivers seat today, first step was to take the seat out, right? Nope! As I was lifting it out, I realized that something was tugging on it...what could that be? My Alarm!! DOH! now my alarm dosent work, plus the sub wont fit there bacause the alarm (honda factory alarm) is in the way!

Now I just need to figure out what I messed up with the alarm, 'cause me doors don't lock or anything! I have to use the key!?! uugh!

Looks like a long weekend!
