CLOSE PLEASE
I will be getting the
alpine CDA 9856
Lucid rears- will have boston acoustic speakers in them
Kappa perfect 6.5, components
W6 10" sub.
I currently have an amp running the boston acoustic speakers- 50/2 (old model alpine- T130 I believe)
Im going to put the boston speakers that are in the door and move them to the lucid rear panel, and put the kappa's in the door with spacer.
(the 6.5's will fit in an 00 model right with spacers?)
I was wondering which amp i should get....
heres what im thinking.
I wanted to do a 500/1 for the W6, so i could get a bass knob, but....
Now im thinking I should get like a 600/2.
That way I can put 300 to the subwoofer, and 300 to the kappa's.
I would run the rear bostons off the old amp still.
Is 600/2 too much. 300 watts running to speakers? I think they I read max is 400.
----OR----
Should I run the Kappas on my old amp, get a 250/1 for W6(no bass knob- not a big deal), and run the rear panel speakers by the deck(50/4 max power- which should be enough for the rear speakers).
Please help.
Thanks
p.s.- a lot of people get capacitors and batter charger things- is any of this necessary?

kappa perfects should fit in 00, and have an 01 and mine fit no problem
others will probably chime in with more experience but my .02....
dont use the factory head unit to power speakers, get proper amps.
kappa perfects are rated at 100watts rms, so get something as close to that as possible.
IMO bass knob = overkill. between amps and head units eq...not needed.
GL hopefully others will chime in with more input

so...what does anyone recommend for an amp to power the sub, and speakers....
keep the current amp for the bostons...
amp
would i need like a 400/2?
can you do 300 to the sub, and 100 to the speakers?
Any recommendations?
by the way, did you need spacers for the kappas? You said they fit fine, but ive seen posts explaining you need the make a spacer.

a couple things -
if the boston speakers are currently in your doors, they may
not fit in the back - the amount of room for the magnets is small
and most 6.5" speakers won't fit.
if you want to use one amp to power both your door speakers
and your sub, you'll need one that supports a least 3 channels -
Left, Right & sub... many people use a 4 channel in which they
bridge two channels to power the sub.

You need a 125x4@ 4ohms. That way, you can have 250x2 @ 2 ohms (if you have the proper sub) for the sub, and 125x2 @4ohms for the kappas. A nice hifonics amp will cost you 150 bucks with those specs.
Edit...oops...the $150 dollar one is sold out....they only have this one in stock now.
