Exclamation Completed Audio Install

I decided to move my 5 1/4" MB Quart components to the back and cut the holes in the panels with a dremel. Pretty easy. I then bought a set of 6 1/2" MB Quart components and placed them in the doors. My friend helped me cut adapters out of MDF and then I painted them for protection against water. I also taped all terminals, since those tend to rust.

I also decided to rewire the front speakers, and since the crossovers look pretty good, I decided to mount those right under the rear speakers. I used 18 Gauge twisted pair. Basically, wiring is going from the Alpine HU to the Crossovers, and then two wires through the doors. Pulling out those grommets and putting em back was a major PIA.

Finally, I found some Focal tweeter pods that allow me to crossfire more, and since I didn't have grills, I hot glued speaker cloth to it and then hot glued that to the pods.

I like the sound much better now. The 6 1/2" components reach a lower frequency than the 5 1/4"s, I can hear much more when the top's down, and since they're MB Quarts, the clarity is amazing!

Nice speakers... but why do you have MB midbass in the doors and Focal tweeters?

So did you finish the car?

This my sound kinda off but your doing a widebody conversation to your car yourself... but you needed your friend to help you cut a few MDF rings??......

I explained that in my post above. I'm just using Focal pods since those are angled more. I don't have wood cutting tools, so my friend had to cut it. Bondo and wood aren't the same thing

And no your right bondo and wood are not the same... wood is easier to work with I know all about working with wood and bondo and fiberglass... its fun!

John I need recommendations for a Head Unit, since the Alpine that I'm borrowing from my friend only puts out 30W Max x 4 and is 11 years old.

I want to run head unit only, no amp, so what's one that puts out the most RMS wattage and is the clearest for let's say $300.
