Component Speaker Recommendations?
I have an Alpine ida x303 with the power pack and the sps600c speakers and really enjoy it. I could tell a difference when I installed the power pack and it was enough to hit the level I needed. You shouldn't have any issues with the sps610c speakers recommended (other than modifying the midwoofer baskets).
If you plan on amping, then don't bother with the power pack and get the Alpine Type R speakers vice the Type S onces recommended.

Crutchfield has the Alpine SPS-600C speakers for $80, which looks like a killer price (normally they're $150).
Is there a difference between the 600C and the 610C, which is $130? I'm thinking of getting the Power Pack along with the 600C at this point, which comes out to around $200.
Also, any more comments on the sound quality/loudness--specifically, the bass output? I've read some lukewarm comments about the bass output. Again, I'm not looking for a professional-level system, just something I can hear with the top down. Thanks guys!

If you are driving with the top down, you are going to lose bass output. Bass requires power and unfortunately 45 watts isn't going to cut it. You should be able to hear higher notes fairly well.
