Component Suggestion
Slowly will be upgrading my audio system for more enjoyment over the next few months for my 2007. Currently I have an alpine headunit with a DCI and also have a set of kicker components. The kickers are now 3 years old and are starting to break down.
Now every so often a new version of components come out from various companies and I would like to get something that is direct fit on the speaker end. I realize that the tweeters need a "custom mount".
Here is the latest from Kicker:

Long term is a 5 channel amp to power the components, also adding the rear speaker upgrade behind the seats. Not sure if the OEM roll hoop speakers will be eliminated at that time or not. And finally a small 8 or 10" sub in the trunk eventually. I have done the big system thing before in other cars and this is not what its about for me. Just an enjoyable sound, top up or down, that will easily overpower my exhaust.
Any other suggestions?
Also I need to run new speaker wiring from the amp to the crossover in the door when I add the amp, I assume that is straight forward so far as just running the wiring through the OEM door harness?
Thanks

I had Polk Momo 6500s that gave up after a decade, so I replaced them with the modern Polk db equivalent, which I find good. The tweeter just needed a bit of super glue to mount to the bracket for me, but I can't remember if that was original to the car at this point...
Hertz HSK-165XL or Hybrid Audio Imagine or Clarus in the doors
ditch/disconnect the roll hoop speakers
get a quality 5-channel amp, esp if you want to add a sub in the future or at the same time
sub in the passenger footwell (2 6.5", or one 10"). a trunk sub is most convenient & the norm, but will won't sound as good and will require more power.
sound deaden the doors
