Thumbs up Component System Question

I just ordered a JVC KD-AVX33 CD/DVD headunit and a JBL GTO752 2 channel amp, great deal on both of them, HU for $300 shipped and Amp for $70 shipped. I also have a 4 guage amp wiring kit and 40' of 16 guage speaker wire coming as well. All I am in need of is a QUALITY component system. I don't need top of the line, but I have seen the Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1 recommended and Diamond Audio Hex S600S as well. Problem is, this amp is 75wx2 RMS. I don't want to drop $200 on some nice components and underpower them.

All I am really looking for is tight mids, a little bass (listen to mainly rap/hip hop/some rock) and clarity at volumes to where I can hear the music with the top down at 80mph. I plan on gutting the car and installing the headunit, amp, and speakers all in one weekend (per Dark Knight's amp wiring instructions).

Can someone help recommend a component system for me? Thanks for your time.

Josh

I have Infiniti Kappa's, and I like them, running 150w to each speaker.

I have 2 of the component sets in my civic and I liked them in that situation as well. I have always been pleased with their performance.

I have those but i run them with xtant 1.1i's at 100 watts to each. They will respond really well with 75 im guessing and are amazing. They will hit frequencys at 80hz and will make it sound like your car has a sub without even having one. Just seal your doors completly with dynamat and they will thump

i would say dynamting the doors is a must, with it being a convertible blocking out road noise, directing the energy into sound not vibration,

Damn, well is it hard to do? We have a guy locally that does car audio install, and he has a lot of references, but thats 90% of the fun is getting to install everything myself!

not hard at all, heat gun/ hair dryer, razor knife and time, to do it well, give about 45 minutes a door. then install speakers, and you have drastically improved your sound!

That's great to know. I am hoping to undertake all this at the beginning of May, once it gets warm and I can dedicate an entire weekend to a full strip and install.

I have to get the component sets, dynamat, and decide if I am going with the Modifry adaptor and a few other accessories.
