Default Compustar alarms

Anyone own one? What do you think of it, how long have you had it, and are you satisfied?

Ive got the 2W900FMR in my NSX. Its great. I wish the range was greater in the city, but otherwise, not a single complaint.

I had the installers rig up a DEI microwave sensor to it also. Works well with the compustar.

I have the 2W900FM in my s2000... I had them add the DEI Proximity sensor to it also. Works great! Only complaint is the range is not nearly what they claim it to be. I guess it varys from city to city, but I bet mine is about half of what they claim. I bought it because we had some theft at our apartments "secure" underground parking garage, which I am 3 story above, and I get a signal up there, so that was my main reason for going with the compustar

I have the newer, SS model... I wish the pager wasn't so big and ugly.

Also, the alarm has been acting up on me... I think I need to turn the sensitivity down or something.

When I got my compustar 2 months ago, I called them up direct to discuss the differences between the Spread Spectrum (SS) and the 900fm... The lady I talked to was really helpful in helping me decide between the 2 as there was only about a $30 difference. She told me the good and bad on each one. The SS, in theory, has a longer range as it works off of the spread spectrum technology, where the 900fm works of a 900mhz fm signal. She told me that by having even one key attached to the SS remote would cause interference. She also told me that the SS, after being on the market for a while, they were discovering some issues with it that people are starting to have with it after time, malfunctioning and what not. That could be what you are experiencing... I would take it back to where ever you got it installed and have them look at it

I tried to do the installation myself and got my ass kicked. I could not get the damn thing to work. I did the doors and the trunk OK but the remote start etc. was all wrong no idea why.
