connecting 2ohm sub
i have a pdx1.1000 amp and a type x sub wired at 2 ohms. is there a special way of connecting it. i see 2 speaker outputs on the amp. do i just connect it one of them ?
what the consequenses if i'm not sure and i run it at 2ohm when its not. I'm pretty sure its wired for 2ohms cause its a 2 ohm speaker right?i had a box made for the sub from al and eds and i told him what amp i had. so i think its 2 ohms. i want to run it now cause i just wired my amp.
also i dont understand your reply.
heres a pic of the back of my amp

In case you are using a dual coil Sub....or 2 different subs you want to run in parallel.
from Crutchfield:
"The two speaker terminals are shorted together, so if you're only using one sub you can connect to either terminal."
If your are running a Type-X Sub, it probably has 2, 4 Ohm voice coils which are currently wired in parrallel.
Do what PAS2KNUT said...OR assuming I got your type X model configuration correct, run a pair of lines from each amp output to each voice coil.......
Please inclue all model numbers of equipment when asking for help.....thanks!

All the X-type subs I've seen are dual VC, 4ohm each......wire the VCs in parallel (+ to + and - to -) and connect them to the amp exactly like Jim said:
"just connect the + wire to speaker output channel 1 + and - wire to the speaker output channel 1 - and you should be good to go. "
or John as said to use the left one.....

The amp should have come with a connector that you connect the speaker wires to. On the connector there are two places to put speaker wires. One is positive (+) and one is negative (-). Take the positive (+) wire from the sub and connect it to the positive (+) position on the connector. Then take the negative (-) wire from the sub and connect it to the negative position on the connector. Once you have the sub connected to the connector plug the connector into channel 1 or the left side. Here is a picture from the manual of the PDX1000.1 showing what I just described.

What model x-series sub did you buy so I can look up the wiring diagram for 2ohms.
If you are not comfortable with these directions I highly recommend you pay someone to do this for you.
