I have not heard of anyone putting a CR cluster in an AP1. I know of people that have installed a CR cluster in the base 08-09 model with no problem. I believe that the mounting brackets are interchangeable from AP1 to CR, but the connectors/wiring harnesses are completely different. I would look for the connector schematic in the s2000 service manual and see if you can match an AP1 harness to the CR cluster connectors. This project will involve a great deal of custom wiring. Furthermore, there are several difference between the AP1 and CR models (VSA and TPMS to name a few) which might make the CR cluster incompatible. Good luck and let us know if you get it working.

Dont forget from what I remember, milage is stored in the cluster. so swapping clusters gives you a different milage.

I would ask Leester01. He is probably the most familiar with cluster swaps on this forum. I just realized that he swapped the CR cluster into an 06-07. He might be able to give you some tips on swapping it into an AP1.

I had an AP2 cluster swapped into my AP1. it was a pain. Harness is different and correct, the mileage is stored on the cluster. you will have an issue if you are going to 9K as the cluster will start blinking once it is past the 8K limit. Cluster speed may be off by +/-2mph. It is also really hard to find a pin out of the cluster. you may want to purchase an entire AP2 CR dash harness to complete this. I do not know if the other end is the same as an AP1 though. I do have an 04/05 dash harness for sale if you swap to a 04/05 cluster.

no they are not. you need pigtails to make them fit. and would need to cut and splice the ap2 pigtails in.
