Default crap, my sub is shaking something

Something is rattling in my trunk and it isn't my license plate. I was holding the frame and the plate while my sub was bumping. However, there was still something rattling. If I can't figure out what it is, I'm just going to return it.

It could be either the cross bracing on the trunk lid......or maybe your sparetire isn't bolted down right.

My spare has been removed, but I'll check the cross bracing on the trunk lid. It kind of sounds like something under the car.

What you can do is cram yourself inside the trunk and see if you can get it to stop ratteling. If you can't hear it inside the car then SCREW IT!

It's not that noticeable in the car, but when you're standing outside you can hear it pretty good. What about you Pinky? Does your car rattle from your sub?

I have no sub! I have Bass Shakers. I can't give up the space for a sub just yet.

Exhaust hangers tight? Loose wire harness? License plate/frame? Just grasping at straws here.

I get a slight buzz from my front speakers' harnesses.

Maybe take video of the problem, moving around the trunk area. It's kind of tough to diagnose given your description.

I have the same problem. It is:

1. the trunk lid
2. the 3rd brake light
3. the tension bars that hold the trunk lid open
4. the plastic rear window
5. the rear license plate

I have a plastic (clear) cover on my rear plate. I padded it, and the plate vibration is gone. I removed the 3rd brake light and put some rubber foam between the light and the trunk, and then re-attached (vibe is now gone). I am going to attach a strip of metal on the inside of the rag top just below the glue strip of the plastic rear window. I have tested some 'prototypes' and found one to work really well. I will be installing it this coming weekend (7th). I wrapped the tension bars for the trunk lid with a towel, and it worked. I'm looking for some rubber pipe insulating surrounds to wrap the tension bars. The trunk lid is the last bit, I was going to consider going with a carbon fiber trunk lid, if I can find one. If not, dynamat, rubber, and some wrapped wood bolted to the top of the trunk, possibly to hold the jack/tools as well.

Well, just some feedback. Email me if u like.

Good luck...
