Dash controls (Which head units have been successfully installed with PAC SWI-X)
I'd appreciate suggestions as to what head units have been successfully interfaced with the PAC- SWI-X to retain the Dash Controls.
I'm specifically interested in MP3 cabable units. Thanks All

Just about any head that uses an IR control will work with the PAC if the carrier frequency is around the 45 kHz range. Ask the manufacturer of the head you're interested in what carrier they use.
I was looking for some feedback on specific models.
I was aware of that 45-55 KHZ spec. Thanks for your Reply though.
I did come across your site on another thread and found it very informative.
On behalf of the general public , thanks for putting that up.
I'm sure it will help the average Joe.I was planning to post the pinouts of the stereo wires (but you beat me to it) to insure people get the polarity correct when they change Speakers or even a head unit.
Observing polarity is vital to getting the best bass possible from a speaker. (Fellow Engineer Here ) Thanks

The polarity doesnt matter unless 1. you have a crossover hooked up in series to the loudspeaker or 2. both speakers are hooked up out of phase of each other (unless u engineered them to be this way.. generally not the case for cars)

I mean, I have a Sony CDX-750M with MP3 changer and it worked fine with the SWI-3 but as both are now obsolete it would mean nothing to you.
I also have a CDX-MP450X that works fine with the DCU, but I have no idea if it will work with the SWI-X.
If someone can confirm that it will you can have it for $200 shipped.
