It suddenly died out today. I had used this with the modifry DCI hooked up to my Alpine deck (pre-wired DCI) and it was fine for over 5.5 years. What could have possibly gone wrong and is there anything I need to look out for?

Or has there been any reports of the modifry DCI just dieing?

Note the deck still functions fine, just the controls behind the steering wheel have completely stopped working and fails to respond.

 

Perhaps the wiring got loose? Your best bet is to get in there and see if there are any obvious issues. If nothing shows up, you should contact Modifry about the DCI possibly failing and how to test for it.

Do you store anything inside the radio door? I always kept my clip-on shades in there when I had the stock h/u, but my Alpine h/u sticks out a hair farther, so the shades would push a button just enough to prevent the dash controls from working.
