Default Dead Battery-Any suggestions?

I have the optima yellow top battery. I drove 15 miles, some local, mostly freeway and then parked the car. My bumper was in the red a little so I got back in the car and it wouldn't start. The battery died. Any ideas? I've have the battery for about 15 months.

Was the engine cranking? Did the engine sound sluggish if it did crank? Did the dash light up?

Werd. I have an optima, and the car cracks like crazy even if the battery is almost dead. An optima is 70% charged when you are driving. Something is weird. Check to make sure the positive terminal didnt pop off. If not, you may have a defective battery, although Ive never heard of that (from optima)

I don't have an Optima in my car, but I think if that's the new technology battery, I have experience with them in my boats. When they fail, there is no warning, they just go without showing weakness.

That is true. Gel Cell batteries are known to just "die" They dont get weak. How old is your battery?

The battery is about 15 months old. I'm getting it jump started by Honda Roadside and taking it to the dealership now.

My bad... I read the original post as the battery being 15 minutes old, not 15 months. I would suspect the battery...
