i recently purchased a new HU and i'm trying to install it
i have no electrical experience so i'm just trying to go with whatever i read online

is there an more in depth diagram on where all the wires are supposed go to? (which and what they are supposed to be connected to)

If you get a harness adapter from modifry, it is pretty self explanatory. Also looking at the pinouts in the factory service manual helps a lot.

 

do you have a harness adapter, for example Metra 70-1721?
if so, the wire colors are standardized and you can likely splice the wires from
the headunit's harness to the adapter harness by color alone. if there's any
confusion, MacGyver's page has a list of the wires by position.

 

get the Metra Harness or the Modifry Harness. Soo easy a cave man ca do it
