Default DEH-P5100UB

before i sit on pioneer's customer service line i wanted to swing this question by you guys first.

on the deh-p5100 and probably some of the other models, the backlighting periodically reverses (goes from black background and lit characters to lit background and black characters). this is REALLY annoying since when it does have the lit background it is way too bright. i know i can adjust the dimming but when it is under its normal lighting mode the brightness is fine, but the tan i'm getting from the blue glow in reverse mode is giving me cancer.

if you guys know if this can be disabled let me know. you could save a life.

It's in the manual. You can turn it off.

Is it in Demo mode? I think you have to power the unit off and there is a sub-menu you can get into to switch Demo on/off. You could also hook up the illumination wires. It should help a little, but don't expect a whole lot.
