I have my Polks on Order from Crutchfield, At $149 you cant go wrong!

Currently i'm running an Alpine 9857 and will be hooking up an Sirius tunner when I rip the Doors off.
This should make for a nice Day with the inside of the car ripped apart.

I may spend some time this weekend following the Photos in the post.
Great Job, and thanks!

Thank ya

I am totally done with my sound system now (got a 10" Polk Sub w/ California amp @ 300wrms). Still do not have or need an amp for my components, they are louder than my sub at cruzing speeds w/ the top down, and sound great!

My friend just ordered this same alpine deck I have, so when he installs his, I will be sure to do a modifry DIY. (Cause I was too lazy to write one for mine.)

Ok this DIY inspired me to look these Polk's up.

Are they really that much better than the stock speakers? I am about to jump on this but need to know if there are other, better 6.5"s. Don't mind spending a little more if there is a huge diff in quality (like maybe the MMC6500)

In my opinion They blow away the Stock speakers. I had my new deck briefly with the stock speakers and it still sounded crappy. But now after upgrading the doors it souds great

On a side note, I am no longer using the rear head speakers. I have them disabled at the wirning harness so I am just using the four door speakers with no woofer and no amp and still really happy.

My $.02

I just put the DB6500 speakers in the driver side door before running out of daylight. The speakers sound fine but noticed my passenger side window will not operate (up or down).
Tomorrow I'm going to remove the door panel again and see if I missed
a connection.
Does anyone know what might have caused this?

You forgot to connect the window lock switch on the driver side...don't feel bad about it I forgot to do that too my first time. Make sure to amp those speakers too. The highs will have to be adjusted, but the sound for the buck is just wonderful after you amp them.

Thanks for the reply. Is that the green plug? I did notice that it pulled out on it's own but then I reconnected. It mave have unplugged again during the re-install of the panel.

check that, also if that doesnt fix the problem, check the window lock switch. I did that at first and took the whole door apart before realizing it

B.Money- It was the window lock switch. You really saved me a lot of time and it may have been something I never would figure. I don't recall ever using this switch before. Thanks again.
