I have a feeling this will be plenty bright during the day. Is there any way to decrease brightness, though, for night driving? I don't care WHAT color you choose, that same brightness during the night will quickly give you a headache.

Does the Tach stay blue all throughout the RPM range or does it start changing color as it begins to reach the redline?

You're probaby thinking about my design, Koala. DJ's uses white LEDs with a colored filter over them, so a color change is not possible.

Can you make it so that when you initially start up, your redline is low. But as you drive and the engine warms up and the redline moves higher and higher to the magical 9k?

Do you mean the actual redline, or just the initial appearance of red at an increasing rpm on the tach? If you mean actual, you'll need something that modifies/replaces your ECU. If you mean just the appearance, that won't be possible with DJ's current setup.

I'm surprised he hasn't chimed in on this thread in a while...why the heck am I answering all of the questions

Just the appearence. So when you first start it up, say 5-9k are all lit up in red. And your engine rpm is normal in blue, sure you can go into the red, but why would you? your engine is cold. As your engine warms, the redlines moves higher until it is at the normal 9k (8900 for the picky).
