If the '05 speakers are anything like the ones that were in my '01 they gotta go. if you get some component 6.5's and a 2 channel amp it will sound infinitely better!

the '05 speakers are reputed to be much better than the terrible '01
speakers, but in any event if your complaint is volume rather than
sound quality, you need more power, so go with the amp.

Ahh, but the stock door speakers can't handle an amp. I would upgrade the speakers first - if that doesn't work, move on to adding an amp. Adding an amp before the speakers is putting the cart before the horse.

thx for the replys sometimes its like pulling teeth on questions like these anyways, yea it just seems they dont go loud enough, and i agree the stock speakers probably cant handle an amp, but im sure i will need one anyways just because if i get better speakers im guessing they will need more power so my questions are

1. what speaker brand should i look into getting, would getting something from walmart be fine?

2. is there a chance that new speakers will be louder than stock without a amp

3. if i do need a amp what kind should i look into, being i will never be using a sub, just a lil something for the door speakers

DO NOT shop for car audio at Walmart.

There is a good chance that aftermarket speakers will be louder than stock (mine were, in fact).

I would look into Sundown amps. I just did an install in my truck using Sundowns and it sounds amazing. Plus, you can't really beat the prices.
