Default Do rear speakers limit any seat movement?

I'm tall and need all the S2 leg room I can get. Do rear speakers limit either how far the seat can go gack or the seat recline?

If you use a grill cover, then yes. It'll stick out the thickness of the cover. If you use no cover, then it will stick out the thickness of the speaker lip.

Rear speakers in S-Pods don't limit seat travel at all. Here's a link

I like the concept, however, having one speaker that close to your ears may screw up the stereophonic balance to some extent. You would be hearing the left channel so much louder than the right and if you "balance" it to the right, then your right door speaker will be booming.
I would have prefered the method used in the old Fieros. Each headrest had 2 speakers, one for each channel, one on each side of each occupants' heads.

The headrest speakers are designed like Xviper suggests, but they are pricey.

It has been said about a dozen times, but if you are concerned about stereo separation there are two solutions.

1. Adjusting the fade and balance seems to work VERY well for people. The people who actually have the S-pods are never the ones bringing this up or complaining about it.

2. You can wire the rear channel together in paralell. This makes both rear speakers mono and they each put out everything no matter the balance setting. The stereo separation comes from the fronts. I changed the wiring, but my car is in storage so I have not been able to really hear it.

Thank You! About 30 sets are in customers cars now, and NOBODY is un-happy. Fade and Balance work.

I could do it this way, but the speakers would have to be small...2 or 3 inches. If anyone want's to try it, I'll custom cut the mounting plates to fit your speakers, and we'll see how it works.

Sounds good. Just let me know well in advance so I can configure the mounting plates for your chosen speakers. If the stereo concept works out; I'll offer a choice of mounting plates. If not; I can always send you some stock mounting plates.
